SWEAT IT OUT
Luke 22:39-44
39 Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him. 40 On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.” 41 He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, 42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” 43 An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. 44 And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.

How many of us are “waiting” on our breakthrough, on a new season in life, on our husband or wife we desire, on a breakthrough in our finances, our family, our marriage. The list goes on and on. I find it interesting in the passage above that even Jesus had to seek his father, saying ”not my will, but yours be done”. What does that say? When Jesus took on a human form…he had a will….and that will was at odds with the will of God. He HAD to pray….he had to sweat it out…til he got to the place of perfect peace. That why WE have to struggle sometimes too. We get mad at God, thinking He is holding out on us, in reality He is waiting on us.
Sometimes we have to “sweat it out” Even Jesus had to…he said…if there is another way…..NEVERTHELESS….not MY will….
We should be seeking to lives in the will of God….many times we want God to be in OUR will, we make a plan and then ask God to bless it.
Its in the will of God that we have….security, where we are upheld, enemies are defeated, and where we find peace and protection.
Everything God has for you is in His will….we need to be passionate about being in Gods will…..and sometimes to get there, we have to “sweat it out”.
